A box whose lid is cut into shallow facets that catch the light differently as you turn it.

A thin seam of red inlay runs the length of the lid, splitting the facets in two.

Modelled true, then made real at the bench. Expect small, honest variations — grain, tone, the exact grip of a lid — that mark a piece made by hand rather than pressed by a machine.
